Freddie Gibbs has voiced his support for the Jay-Z deal with the NFL. The news of a partnership between the NFL and Jay-Z broke last week and drew divided opinion across the internet. Some people view the deal as a sign of change while others see it as a capitalist approach from Hov with others likening it to the work of Colin Kaepernick.

Gibbs Says F**k Kaepernick and supports Hov’s NFL partnership deal

One person who is not taking criticism of Jay-Z is Freddie Gibbs who took to Instagram to drum support for the deal. He, however, did that while he toddled on Colin Kaepernick. In the post, Gibbs says, “I’m riding with Jaz-Z, straight up. Fuck Colin Kaepernick. He took issue with people who stood with Colin Kaepernick and he took a settlement that they know nothing about. He told them to let it go and stop hating on Jay-Z. According to him, he is trying to own something in the NFL.

 

Gibbs was referencing to a settlement that occurred back in February. Details about the settlement are scanty. Kaepernick has since shown the interest of returning to the league y showcasing his potential to get the job done in twitter video.

The team that Jay-Z will have ownership in has not yet been revealed.

Gibbs’ favorite albums for the year

As Gibbs was igniting the internet, a netizen asked him what his favorite album was for the year. He indicated that his collaborative album with Madlib, Bandana was at the top but other projects have fascinated him so far. Besides Bandana he has also been listening to YBN Cordae’s debut Lost Boy, Rick Ross’ Port of Miami 2, Tyler, The Creator’s IGOR and Dreamville’s first lady.

Despite releasing Bandana barely two months ago Gibbs and Madlib have released another collaborative single through Adult Swim Singles program. The new track was released last week and it is called “The Next Day” featuring Madlib’s brother Oh No.

The duo is expected to host a Boiler Room that is set as a lunch party in London for Bandana.
